The Postage Deposit Explained

Mail Forwarding Postage Deposit Explained

When you sign up for any of our Mail Forwarding Services, on top of the advance service payment we also take a £20 postage deposit.

So what is this for?

2 things:

• If you collect your mail or have it forwarded, we charge a 10p handling charge per letter (there is a £2.50 handling charge for parcels). If your mail is scanned we charge a 50p handling charge. These charges are knocked off of your deposit.

• If your mail is forwarded, we knock the Royal Mail fee for posting off of your deposit.

The length of time that your deposit lasts depends on how much mail you receive, how it is handled (forwarded, scanned or collected) and where we forward it to if forwarded.

When your postage deposit falls below £5.00 we’ll send an email requesting that you top it up.

Let us know if you have any questions!

Do you use London Presence? We’d love to hear from you.

We’d love to hear from you

We’re building a portfolio of case studies about customers who use our services. If you use any of the following, we would love to hear from you:

• Mail Forwarding
• Phone Answering
• Holiday Cover

What we need

A few paragraphs about you, your business and how our services assist you.

We’re also looking for some larger, interview format case studies. Interviews can take place at our London offices or over the phone.

What’s in it for you?

Well most importantly it’s great exposure for your business. We don’t want the case studies to be about us, that would be boring, we want them to be about you.

If we decide to use your case study (on the site, marketing materials, social media etc) we’ll also give you a £25 Amazon voucher.

Interested?

Please email [email protected] for more information.

How would you like your mail handled?

Your mail, how you want it

Our Mail Forwarding services don’t just include mail forwarding. Oh no. We can handle your mail a number of ways depending on what package you have with us.

Here’s a breakdown of what we can do and what packages we can do it on:

Mailed

Let’s start with the most obvious. We receive your mail and forward it on to a destination of your choosing. Available with our Mail Box Basic, Mail Box Plus and Mail Box Pro packages.

Scanned

We receive your mail, open it and then email you a scan. After two weeks we securely destroy the mail. If you would like to receive the item, we can forward it at a cost of £2.50. Available with our Just Scan, Mail Box Plus and Mail Box Pro packages.

Scanned and Mailed/Filed for Collection

We receive your mail, open it and then email you a scan. We can then either mail it to you or you can collect it from us. Available with our Mail Box Plus and Mail Box Pro packages.

Collected

We receive your mail and then notify you that there is mail available to collect from us. You come and collect the mail. Available with our Mail Box Plus and Mail Box Pro packages.

This time last year… London 2012

Browsing through our past blog posts I came across one that I had written in March 2010, ‘Olymp-clinically Obese’. The gist of the post was that Londoners had a right to be cynical about the Olympics a good two years before they took place and that they would no doubt embrace them when they came around.

How right I was.

This got me all sentimental about London this time last year (well almost, the opening ceremony was on July the 27th). Olympic fever reached our office when the torch-bearers paraded down Farringdon Road. You knew something had changed because delayed journeys were met with enthusiasm rather than derision.

We’d caught the Olympic bug… a bug that wouldn’t shift until the closing of the Paralympics in September.

Barely a day went by without a yelp from the kitchen as someone watched a compatriot (compatriot-proper or compatriot-through-sweepstake) grasp gold. There was a real buzz in the office and out in the streets. The world’s best party had come to our doorstep.

A fantastic time to have a London Presence.

Proof of ID & address required if signing up for mail forwarding: It’s the law

It is required by law that we hold proof of ID and proof of address for all customers who use our London mail forwarding service. This is to ensure that we comply with legislation set out by the City of Westminster:

“The City of Westminster introduced legal controls under the London Local Authorities Act 2007 which requires a virtual office to register with the Council, keep records of all clients who use their services and a copy of their identification and proof of address” Continue reading

It’s Clerkenwell Design Week!

clerkenwell

It’s a chair in a box. Not the weirdest thing you’ll see at this year’s design week.

Yesterday saw the launch of this year’s Clerkenwell Design Week; “the UK’s leading independent design festival” and the office is already in the festival spirit. Running until tomorrow, the 3 day design extravaganza sees Clerkenwell host an array of workshops and presentations showcasing the latest in design.

If you can get to Clerkenwell (nearest tube Farringdon) we thoroughly recommend paying a visit as the square mile surrounding our office is truly buzzing at the moment.

Take a look at the programme to see what’s on and visit our Facebook page for the latest photos from the event.
