Sarah Loves London because…

It’s Sarah!

It’s Valentine’s Day tomorrow so what better time to post a new “We Love London because” post? Okay, tomorrow may be slightly better. Nonetheless, next up in the hot seat is Sarah, our Social Media Executive:

“When I started working for the Made Simple Group (BEST DAY OF MY LIFE) and moved to London from Wales just over a year ago, I couldn’t wait to see what the ‘big smoke’ had to offer.

Now, what I enjoy most about living in London is being so close to the West End. You can see world famous shows and theatre productions at the drop of a hat. Tonight for example I am going to see The Book of Mormon.

I love being able to go to the theatre every week and having such a large range of productions to choose from. Even the not so famous shows are excellent and illustrate the amount of talent that is in the city.

My favourite show to date? It’s got to be The Lion King. #classic”

Thanks Sarah!

Laura Loves London because…

Laura. In Canterbury.

Here it is, the first “We Love London because…” blog post. In this series of posts, a member of the team is going to name one(ish) thing that they love about London. Kicking us off is our Marketing Assistant, Laura.

“I love London because it’s so easy to get around. Being from a small town in Essex I usually have to drive everywhere. In London everything’s on your doorstep and you’re never short of options; Tube, bus, cab or Boris bike – they’re all great!

It’s great for walking around too. Even if you’re not aiming for anywhere, you can still wander and find some hidden gems, like a good pub or a secret garden.”

Thanks to Laura for stepping up first. What do you love about London? Let us know in the comments section below.

How do I top up my Postage Deposit?

How do I pay my Postage Deposit?

The Postage Deposit is used to pay for any postage or handling fees that your mail incurs.

When you sign up for any of our Mail Forwarding services, £20 is put towards the deposit. The amount of time this lasts depends on what service you have and where we’re sending your mail (if your mail is forwarded).

When the deposit starts to run low, we’ll send you an email letting you know. To top up your postage deposit (you don’t have to wait until you’re notified – you can top up when you want) simply:

1. Sign in to your account
2. Select My Deposits
3. Under Actions select View
4. Enter the amount that you wish to add to your account and then
select ADD TO BASKET:

5. Complete the payment process

That’s it!

Introducing “We love London because…”

We do!

Welcome to our first “We love London because…” blog post. Over the coming months, I’m going to ask the team at London Presence “what do you love about London?” Each post will be dedicated to one person and one thing that they love about the capital.

Now we’re going to keep things strictly positive, but as Londoners, we know that one thing we do all like is a good moan. So if you want to let us know what you dislike about London, let us know via the comments section. Of course, you’re welcome to let us know what you love too!

We’ll post the first proper “We love London because…” in two weeks, watch this space…

I use London Presence… Louis Savy, Sci-Fi London

Louis tells us why he uses a London Presence mail forwarding service

Louis Savy runs Sci-Fi London, the world’s largest film festival dedicated to Science Fiction. The festival showcases the latest Sci-Fi films, large and small. It’s no surprise then that Sci-Fi London receives DVDs by the bucketload from film-makers dying to get their film on the programme. So how does a busy man like Louis cope with all this mail? With a little help from us of course!

Here’s why Louis uses London Presence…

Convenient

Having an external mailing address where I know someone’s there 9-5:30, five days a week is very handy. If something needs to be signed for, I know somebody’s there who can do it. Then my mail is secure until I come and pick it upContinue reading

Is your business covered for Christmas?

Just because you’re on a break doesn’t mean your business is too

I know, I know, it’s not even November yet and here’s a post about Christmas (56 days away)! But trust me; if you run a small business this could be priceless.

Many of us take a break over the festive period, however, that doesn’t mean that business has to take a break too.

With our Holiday Cover service we’ll allocate your business a number for you to give to your customers or potential customers. We’ll then answer calls (answering as either “reception” or in your company name depending on what package you opt for; Basic or Plus) and take messages which will be forwarded onto you via email.

The service can be used for just 1 week or up to 4 weeks. Normally we’d pick up calls Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm, over the Christmas period we can answer calls on (exact times may change; keep your eyes on the blog for updates):

Monday 23rd December: 9am to 5:30pm
Tuesday 24th: 9am to 12:45pm
Friday 27th: 9am to 5:30am
Monday 30th: 9am to 5:30pm
Tuesday 31st: 9am to 3pm Continue reading

NYC’s Start-Up rival according to its Mayor? London of course

Silicon roundabout, just a few minutes walk from us.

Speaking recently at a seminar in New York, Mayor Michael Bloomberg said that he believes London, not Silicon Valley, to be NYC’s closest rival when it comes to hi-tech start-ups:

“Our competition is only going to be in other cities that have similar kinds of characteristics and the city that comes to mind is London”

Old Street roundabout (also known as Silicon roundabout), situated just a few minutes walk from our office, is now considered the tech start-up hub of the UK with companies such as Moo, Moshi Monsters and Last.fm all being based around the area.

An ideal time to have a London Presence then!

How long does it take to receive my mail?

We aim to send mail on the day that we receive it

If you have a mail forwarding service, you will no doubt want to know how long it takes to receive your mail after we’ve processed it. So here you go.

We aim to send mail on the day that we receive it or the day after (Monday to Friday).

If the mail being forwarded is a regular item and is being sent to a UK address, we will send it via Royal Mail 1st Class. This should be with you within the next working day, including Saturdays.

If the mail being sent is Registered Office mail (only relevant if you have a Registered Office service), we will send it via Royal Mail 2nd Class. This should be with you within the next two or three days, once again including Saturdays. Continue reading
